Introduction
My name is Alena
Zink, and I am in the Education Specialist Degree program in Instructional Technology
at Kennesaw State University. This learning journey began a year
ago, and I plan to complete it by the end of summer 2014. My
teaching career began in Belarus, a former USSR republic, after my graduation
from Vitebsk State University in 1998 with a Bachelor's degree
in Elementary Education. The United States of America became my home in
2000 where I continued teaching in many elementary schools.
In 2008, I finished my Master's Degree in Technology in Education at Lesley University. This program helped me utilize many effective strategies to make learning engaging and rigorous for my students. Being an instructional technology specialist at Shiloh Point Elementary school in Forsyth County is a gift because I work closely with teachers and students and discover many ways to integrate technology into daily lessons.
The purpose of this portfolio is to showcase the work I do as an instructional technology specialist and, hopefully, provide strong evidence that reflect the mastery of the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (PSC) and ISTE Standards for Coaches. This portfolio includes reflective pieces on the course work completed by me throughout this program, my professional vision and philosophy, and the Capstone project. Furthermore, I have built a showcase of multiple artifacts and personal reflections to validate the mastery of every PSC and ISTE Standards for Coaches and their elements. Please visit the Standards tab to view my accomplishments gained in this program at Kennesaw State University.
