The development of the workshop helped us focus on some of the principles listed in Instructional Coaching (Knight, 2007), and The Big Four were the basis of it. A detailed plan to teach the content was completed, and it seemed as we were able to help teachers develop a solid understanding of the 4 Cs: communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. The responses from the evaluation indicated that the teachers believed the instruction and structure of the workshop were clear and well organized. The teachers appreciated the opportunity to choose their own learning, while we made ourselves available during the instruction to address concerns, pose additional questions, and participate in the discussions. We provided cooperative learning experiences and activities throughout the workshop.
Overall, the content of this course and its assignments helped me become a more knowledgeable and skillful instructional technology coach. Being in this position, I had multiple opportunities to improve my coaching skills and techniques and address teachers' needs in a more effective way.
